GOP HOPING TO SWEEP THE “BIRTHER” THEORY UNDER THE RUG
April 21, 2011 Featured News

Washington, D.C. – Many in the Republican party are hoping to get rid of the debunked “birther” theory, which touts President Obama is ineligible to be president because he was not born on US soil. Although the theory was almost just a silly notion, it’s been shoved back to the forefront by GOP hopeful, Donald Trump.

Most in the party feel this type of negative conspiracy campaigning will only lend itself to hurting the GOP. They feel this may give the appearance the party has nothing to offer voters except old disproven extreme-right talking points.

The two most likely Republican 2012 presidential candidates, Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty, have agreed that President Obama is a US citizen and eligible for his presidency; in hopes to prevent voters from being distracted from the issues.

Even Jan Brewer is trying to remove herself from the “birther” movement by vetoing the “birther” bill.
