The company said on Tuesday that will change.<\/p>\n<p>A Bloomberg <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/graphics\/2016-amazon-same-day\/\">analysis last week<\/a> showed that the predominantly black Roxbury community did not have access to the Amazon Prime service, which is offered to all adjacent neighborhoods. After looking at nationwide data, Bloomberg called the disparity in Boston &#8220;the most striking.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, who <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/boston.cbslocal.com\/2016\/04\/22\/marty-walsh-amazon-same-day-delivery-roxbury\/\">had criticized the inconsistency<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marty_walsh\/status\/725052731250098178\">tweeted<\/a> on Tuesday that Amazon had notified him of the change. &#8220;I thank them for this decision,&#8221; he wrote.<\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/amazon\">@amazon<\/a> informed me today that they will now be offering same day service to every neighborhood in Boston. Zero,&#8221; Amazon&#8217;s vice president of global communications, Craig Berman, told the news agency. Berman said that those decisions were instead based on where existing Amazon Prime customers live.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Boston Globe<\/em>&#8216;s own analysis <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/business\/2016\/04\/26\/mayor-walsh-says-amazon-rebuffs-request-for-same-day-delivery-roxbury\/DOOCEuFpBRx6hrYoMCnccJ\/story.html\">indicated<\/a> that &#8220;the three ZIP codes excluded from same-day delivery by Amazon are among the poorest in Boston.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/help\/customer\/display.html?nodeId=201631620\">service<\/a> is available only to monthly subscribers of Amazon Prime.
