He has a personal sponsorship deal with Brooks Running, while the American world championships team is sponsored by Nike.<\/p>\n<p>He posted <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/instagram.com\/p\/6DUM9Mt51-\/?taken-by=nicksymmonds\">this photo<\/a> of the USATF letter he received to his Instagram account:<\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/instagram.com\/p\/6DUM9Mt51-\/\">Here is a letter from @USATF I received several weeks ago congratulating me on being selected to Team USA. It also tells me to ONLY pack Team USA, Nike, or non branded apparel. First, thanks for selecting me USATF, see you in Beijing. Second, gonna go ahead and pack some @brooksrunning gear as it is by far the best running gear out there. #RunHappy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A photo posted by Nick Symmonds (@nicksymmonds) on Aug 6, 2015 at 11:22am PDT<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>After receiving the letter that said he had to wear either Nike or nonbranded apparel, Symmonds <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/instagram.com\/p\/6IU-ytN54j\/?taken-by=nicksymmonds\">posted again on his Instagram<\/a>, asking that the team contract be rewritten, because he wouldn&#8217;t sign it with the sponsorship requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Because he wouldn&#8217;t agree to wear Nike, the team replaced him, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/olympics\/trackandfield\/story\/_\/id\/13407856\/runner-nick-symmonds-miss-15-world-championships-clothing-contract-language\">writes ESPN<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<p>&#8221; &#8216;Two years&#8217; worth of work to try to win another medal for my country are now down the drain,&#8217; Symmonds said. &#8216;Is it frustrating? Of course.
