{"id":4100,"date":"2015-07-12T15:26:15","date_gmt":"2015-07-12T23:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/associatednews.info\/content\/?p=4100"},"modified":"2015-07-12T15:26:15","modified_gmt":"2015-07-12T23:26:15","slug":"high-school-students-travel-on-the-james-river-for-a-learning-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/associatednews.info\/content\/high-school-students-travel-on-the-james-river-for-a-learning-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"High school students travel on the James River for a learning experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lynchburg, Va &#8211; <\/p>\n<p>High school students from around Virginia are getting the chance to learn about the James River up close.<\/p>\n<p>The James River Expedition is giving them the chance to travel along part of the 340-mile waterway.<\/p>\n<p>Today marked the start of the second leg of three eight-day excursions that make up the program.<\/p>\n<p>All week long, students will paddle from Lynchburg to Richmond and learn about a unique part of Virginias ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Once youre able to take a student and actually put them in a boat and have them swim, and sleep, and maybe even bathe in the river, it kind of changes their perspective on it a little.
