If it sounds like a bizarre stunt, it is: the comedian played it straight while giving a tour through Monroe&#8217;s history (&#8220;Monroe is the birthplace of the La-Z-Boy. La-Z-Boy: Don&#8217;t sit there, that&#8217;s dad&#8217;s chair!&#8221;), sitting down with the show&#8217;s regular hosts and interviewing &#8220;a local Michigander who is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music&#8221; &#8212; Eminem. Colbert interviews Eminem for nearly 20 minutes, and they talk about Em&#8217;s influences, his route to get to the TV studio (&#8220;did you take I-75?&#8221; Colbert asks) and even getting Em to sing a few Bob Seger songs. Colbert&#8217;s production team reached out to MPACT, Monroe Public Access Cable Television, a few weeks ago, the station&#8217;s Beth Kern said Wednesday. The taping took place Tuesday afternoon and took several hours, and Kern says Colbert and his team were a pleasure to work with and be around. &#8220;It&#8217;s quite an honor,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>View the video at detroitnews.com.<\/p>\n<p>Demo tracks for third Amy Winehouse album have been destroyed<\/p>\n<p>David Joseph, chairman and CEO of Universal Music UK, has destroyed the demos for Amy Winehouse&#8217;s would-be third album. He told Billboard in an article published last week that it was a moral decision. &#8220;Taking a stem or a vocal is not something that would ever happen on my watch. It now can&#8217;t happen on anyone else&#8217;s,&#8221; he said. Also revealed in the Billboard article was that Winehouse had blown off two offers to appear on &#8220;Saturday Night Live&#8221; to promote her mega-hit second album &#8220;Black to Black.&#8221; The Amy Winehouse documentary, &#8220;Amy&#8221; &#8212; which features more than 100 interviews and archival footage &#8212; hits theaters Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Jim Carrey miffed about California vaccination law<\/p>\n<p>California Gov. Jerry Brown signed off on a law that increased vaccination requirements for California school children, and actor Jim Carrey  is not happy about it. &#8220;California Gov says yes to poisoning more children with mercury and aluminum in manditory (sic) vaccines,&#8221; he tweeted, calling Brown a &#8220;corporate fascist.&#8221; Carrey insists he is pro-vaccine, just &#8220;anti-neurotoxin.&#8221; The comedian&#8217;s ex-girlfriend actress Jenny McCarthy is an autism activist and has stated that she believes her son&#8217;s autism was caused by vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Farley documentary to hit theaters this month<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I Am Chris Farley&#8221; is a documentary chronicling the life of whirlwind &#8220;Saturday Night Live&#8221; performer Chris Farley, who died in 1997 at age 33.
