They will find gas prices are an average of 91 cents lower per gallon than last Independence Day.<br \/>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>The average price statewide is $2.65 a gallon. The highest gasoline is found in Asheville where it averages $2.71. The lowest price can be found in High Point at an average of $2.53 a gallon.<br \/>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>The motor club says the top driving destinations for North Carolinians are Orlando, Florida; New Bern; Williamsburg, Virginia; Branson, Missouri; and Fort Bragg.<\/p>\n<p>In South Carolina, Low gas prices and a strong economy are expected to combine for record travel this Independence Day weekend.<\/p>\n<p>AAA Carolinas projects that almost 615,000 South Carolinians will travel more than 50 miles from home for the holiday. Just over 540,000 will be driving to their destinations.<br \/>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>Club president and CEO David Parsons says that July Fourth is the busiest travel time of the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Theres good news at the gas pump, with gas selling for 95 cents less a gallon than at this time last year in South Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>The average price for a gallon in the state is $2.44.
