Teen vocalists in a noon sing-off will raise the curtain on 10 hours of July 4 entertainment at Independence Day at Fort Vancouver.<\/p>\n
The annual Sing Fourth competition will feature 10 Clark County high school students who advanced through May auditions to reach the Vancouver Toyota Main Stage.<\/p>\n
The finalists announced by the Fort Vancouver National Trust are: Lauren Barton, Kaleb Burris, Isaac Dizon, Mia Josberger, Danielle Lorange, Tirza Meuljic, Bella Olsen, Becca Weinberg, Hannah Wilson and Hannah Wrightson. Grace Cunningham and Samantha Dearing are alternates.<\/p>\n
A panel of local musicians, including some who will perform later in the evening, will select the winners. College scholarships will be awarded to the first- ($1,000), second- ($500) and third-place ($250) finishers.<\/p>\n
Other activities and attractions throughout the site include: guided walking tours of the Vancouver Barracks; Kids Patriotic Parade presented by Fred Meyer; $3 admission to the National Park Services Fort Vancouver (free for age 15 and under); tours of the Gen. George C. Marshall House; costumed interpreters who will bring history to life; a hands-on-history tent illustrating heritage handwork skills; and adult beverage pavilion.<\/p>\n
