I dont think its fair to leave this bill pending with everything else thats up when we know already the Senate is already almost certainly not even considering the measure.<\/p>\n<p>With just over two weeks left in the legislative session, thedecision came as the House faced a key deadline: Thursday is the last day the chamber can take initial votes on bills that originated in the House.<\/p>\n<p>The topicof school finance was largely expected to go unaddressed this legislative session while a massive lawsuit involving more than two-thirds of the states school districts awaits a ruling from the state Supreme Court.Texas school districts filed litigationchallenging the states school finance system after lawmakers slashed more than $5 billion from the public education budget in 2011.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A months-long effort to reform the states problem-plagued school finance system before the Texas Supreme Court weighs in came to an end on Thursday.
