The discount retail <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">chain<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> released its Black Friday <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">ad<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> Thursday, announcing that this year the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">store<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> will open at <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">10<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> p.m. on Thanksgiving night for discounts on <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">household<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> items, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">clothing<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">, and toys. Electronics will go on sale <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">2 hours<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> later, at midnight.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Possibly<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> as surprising as the deals <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">is the<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> timing of the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">advertisement<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> for Wal-Mart Black Friday 2011. Last year, Wal-Mart didn\u2019t announce its Black Friday <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">deals<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> until Nov. 22, meaning this year\u2019s revelations are coming a full <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">twelve<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> days earlier than before.<\/p>\n<p>But the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">early<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> Wal-Mart announcement is just the latest in a trend of <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">stores<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> getting <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">an earlier and earlier<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> start to the Black Friday rush: For <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">the first<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> time, Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic are <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">opening up<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> their stores at midnight on Black Friday, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">alongside<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> Macy&#8217;s, Kohl&#8217;s, and Target, which have <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">all done<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> it before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wal-Mart is taking an early start to Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year.
