{"id":2311,"date":"2011-11-14T13:02:39","date_gmt":"2011-11-14T21:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/associatednews.info\/content\/?p=2311"},"modified":"2011-11-14T13:02:39","modified_gmt":"2011-11-14T21:02:39","slug":"healthcare-funding-cutbacks-may-increase-us-unemployment-rate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/associatednews.info\/content\/healthcare-funding-cutbacks-may-increase-us-unemployment-rate\/","title":{"rendered":"Healthcare Funding Cutbacks May Increase US Unemployment Rate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/associatednews.info\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/healthcare1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2312\" title=\"healthcare\" src=\"http:\/\/associatednews.info\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/healthcare1-251x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/associatednews.info\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/healthcare1-251x300.jpg 251w, https:\/\/associatednews.info\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/healthcare1.jpg 299w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 251px) 100vw, 251px\" \/><\/a>Healthcare Funding Cutbacks May Increase US Unemployment Rate<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Recently<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">, SEIU United Long term Care Workers <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">along with a<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> group of partner <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">institutions<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> sent an open letter to the members of the Congressional Super Committee <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">calling on<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> Committee members to use their conscience as their compass when <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">dealing with<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> solutions to the national debt.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">The main concern are the<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">possible<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> cuts to Medicaid and Medicare funding and how <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">such<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> cuts would jeopardize the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">health<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> of our most <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">at risk<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> citizens while only <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">increasing<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> our nation\u2019s unemployment rate.<\/p>\n<p>The letter <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">indicates<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> that if Medicaid were cut by <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">five percent<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">, an additional 250,000 American jobs would be eliminated.
