The <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">company<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> attributed the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">drop<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> in revenues to its revenue share search <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">deal<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> with Microsoft.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Earnings<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> from operations <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">elevated<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> 9pc to US$191m <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">during<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> the second quarter of 2011, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">in comparison to<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> US$175m <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">in<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> the second quarter of <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">last year<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">.<\/p>\n<p>Yahoo said it continued to <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">update<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> its technology platforms, with <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">33<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> additional <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">sites<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> across the Americas, EMEA <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">and even<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> Asia Pacific going live on the new <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">international<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> content platform in the quarter, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">bringing<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> the total to 67. Yahoo News in the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">United States<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> went live in the quarter, the largest <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">website<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> to <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">migrate<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> to date.<\/p>\n<p>Yahoo continued to break its web <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">traffic<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> records with news events, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">such as<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> the Royal Wedding in April marking <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">the largest<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> one-day event with <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">over<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> 400m page views.
