Gen. Ney Aldrin Bautista Almonte. Neither he nor Rodr\u00edguez has offered a motive for the attack on the popular ex-baseball star.<\/p>\n<p>Ortiz <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2019\/06\/10\/731191600\/ex-red-sox-star-david-ortiz-in-stable-condition-after-shooting-in-dominican-repu\">was shot<\/a> in the back at close range on Sunday while sitting at an outdoor bar in Santo Domingo, the Caribbean nation&#8217;s capital city.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged gunman was identified as Rolfy Ferreyra, aka Sandy, according to authorities <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.apnews.com\/e5265903e8924c0db7d9bb217933bea6\">cited<\/a> by The Associated Press.<\/p>\n<p>Security camera footage outside the bar before the shooting shows two men on a motorcycle talking with other people in two different Hyundai cars.
