The poll by  Asisa Research Group, shows the current president of the PRD, Miguel  Vargas would get about 36% of the vote, while Mejia is at approximately  64%. The support for Mejia is on the rise recently across the region.<\/p>\n<p>The same poll included the subject of the incumbent Dominican Liberation  Party (PLD). If President Fernandez chose to run again, he would take  75% of the vote in the primary, while his closest challenger, Danilo  Medina would get only 13%. The new constitution of the Dominican  Republic has some uncertainties, and at this time it is unclear whether  or not President Fernandez will be able to run for a third term. Time  will tell.
