He tells workers that the company should &#8220;pay attention to your issues and make Boeing a better place, not just for a few, but for everybody.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Boeing <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/boeing.mediaroom.com\/news-releases-statements?item=129850\">released a statement<\/a> saying that 74 percent of employees who voted rejected the union, adding:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<p>&#8220;&#8221;We will continue to move forward as one team,&#8221; said Joan Robinson-Berry, vice president and general manager of BSC. &#8220;We have a bright future ahead of us and we&#8217;re eager to focus on the accomplishments of this great team and to developing new opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Friday we will mark the most recent incredible accomplishment in the proud history of the BSC team with the rollout of the first 787-10,&#8221; said Robinson-Berry. &#8220;It is great to have this vote behind us as we come together to celebrate that event.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>President Trump is expected to visit the plant on Friday for that event.<\/p>\n<div><span>Article continues after <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/about-npr\/186948703\/corporate-sponsorship\">sponsorship<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n<aside>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<aside>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><!-- END ID=\"RES515485694\" CLASS=\"BUCKETWRAP INTERNALLINK INSETTWOCOLUMN INSET2COL \" --><\/p>\n<p>Alexandra Olgin of South Carolina Public Radio reported that the<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/southcarolinapublicradio.org\/post\/union-holds-rally-ahead-boeing-vote\"> IAM had promised<\/a> &#8220;nearly 3,000 workers at Boeing respect, wages and consistency. The IAM reports it represents 35,000 workers at 24 Boeing locations around the country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The state has <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/union2.t05.htm\">the lowest union membership rate<\/a> in the country,&#8221; <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2017\/02\/13\/514968736\/years-in-the-making-effort-to-unionize-s-c-boeing-workers-comes-to-a-vote\">Alexandra reported<\/a> for NPR&#8217;s <em>All Things Considered<\/em>. &#8220;Around Charleston, Boeing [had] billboards, T-shirts and ads criticizing the IAM.
