Before you scream with glee, just because a judge granted an injunction to stop the NFL owners from locking out players, you need to remember that the case is currently on appeal. All it takes is a judge to approve the appeal and we could be right back where we started from in terms of the lockout. With that said, though, it is good news for football fans that the NFL is back to work today, at least in a procedural sense. The decision was a win for the players because they get to play while under the old system while the new system get’s worked out. Players can train at team facilities, and coaches and players can communicate once again, which will help out younger teams and those with new coaches immensely. With the draft coming up in a matter of days, this also means that coaches can welcome new players with playbooks and information that they couldn’t with a lockout.
