Summer Vacation

Summer vacation isn’t just for two-legged travelers. Room service menus for your pet include massages for stressed dogs and tabbies, cushy beds for canines, and many hotels have already been enhancing pet amenities.

Best Western has even recruited Cesar Millan of the NatGeo Channel’s, Dog Whisperer, to be their pet travel guru.

The problem is getting your pet to your destination. In recent times, transporting pets on commercial flights has grown more complicated and more expensive.

Pet security has also become a more pressing concern. Incidents of animals being lost, seriously injured or dying have recently gone up.

In spite of these types of inconveniences, flight companies say they’re going out of their way to be pet friendly.

JetBlue features a frequent-flier program which allows customers to earn additional miles when flying with a pet.

And last year, Frontier Airlines began accepting small pets in the passenger cabin for the very first time for a fee of $75 each way.
