Possible New NBC Series, The Firm

NBC is interested in adding a new suspense drama to their lineup, by picking up a show from the best-selling John Grisham novel, The Firm. The original novel was released in 1991, and a movie by the same title was produced in 1993, starring Tom Cruise.

The novel’s copyrights are currently owned by Paramount Pictures and the new 22-episode series is produced by EOne Television. The production company has already sold The Firm to over 125 territories throughout the world.

The pilot episode is two-hours long and was written by Lukas Reiter. The series begins 10 years after the end of the movie, with main character Mitch McDeere leaving a Witness Protection Program. He was responsible for the destruction of a mob run law firm located in Memphis. The script places the family back in a dangerous situation. Author Grisham and writer Reiter are the executive producers for the show.
