In a speech at the National Defense University in Washington, President Barack Obama discussed details regarding the U.S. military forces t in Libya. The president has come under fire from both parties in congress for not getting their approval for the mission which was authorized by the U.N. While the stated purpose for the operation is to protect Libyan civilians, Obama and others in his administration have said they want dictator Muammar Gaddafi out. Last week House Speaker John Boehner sent a letter to the White House asking for clarification on the matter.
Obama has said that the U.S. role would be limited, and he won a crucial victory a couple days ago when NATO assumed overall command of the campaign.
