With playoff time nearing, things in the NBA are heating up.
Speaking of heating up, when will Miami? They are currently on a three game win streak, but just six and four in their last ten and they have a paltry record against good teams (Boston, Chicago). Granted, three men cannot win a title themselves, but a team with that much talent on paper should be expected to be seeded higher in the conference than they are.
The ‘Melo trade seems to be working – for Denver. The Nuggets, astonishingly, are eleven and four since dealing their superstar and sitting in fifth place in the western conference. The Knicks, conversely, are just seven and ten, under 500 and barely clinging to their playoff life. This is a classic case of a the team concept being stronger than one talented individual (hint, hint, Lebron).
Of course, the Lakers are in it and prepping for another title run, but how far can those old legs go? Kobe is legendary though, and he always seems to turn it up a notch come playoff time.
