The WNBA and New York Liberty have agreed to suspend Isiah Thomas ownership application indefinitely.

After further discussion and with the season underway, the WNBA and the New York Liberty have agreed to suspend consideration of Isiah Thomas application for an ownership interest in the Liberty until further notice, the statement from the WNBA said. The process will resume at a future time as determined by the Liberty.

Thomas is still the president of the team, and he said in an interview with The Associated Press at the start of the season that the two positions werent directly connected.

A former Knicks team president, Thomas was the subject of a lawsuit by former Madison Square Garden employee Anucha Browne Sandersthat he sexually harassed her. The suit cost MSG over $11 million, but the Hall of Fame player maintained his innocence and said he was never found personally liable.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL

New Iowa State coach Steve Prohm will keep assistant TJ Otzelberger, a Milwaukee native and St. Thomas More graduate, on his staff next season.

Prohm announced his assistant coaches Monday, two weeks after being hired to replace Fred Hoiberg.

Otzelberger, who worked at Iowa State under both Greg McDermottand Hoiberg, was rehired by Hoiberg shortly before he left to take over the Chicago Bulls. Otzelberger interviewed for the vacancy, but the Cyclones instead hired Prohm from Murray State.

TJ has been terrific throughout the process, Prohm said. I have talked to every one of his former bosses and everyone gave him glowing reports about the type of assistant that he was. He has a great passion for Iowa State and he understands the kind of player you have to have here to win.

Otzelberger spent seven seasons at Iowa State before a two-year stint at Washington. He recruited many of the players set to return for the Cyclones next season.

HOCKEY

Los Angeles Kings center Jarret Stoll has been charged with felony cocaine possession stemming from his April 17 arrest at a Las Vegas Strip pool.

The Clark County district attorneys office charged 32-year-old Stoll with one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Security guards at MGM Grands Wet Republic pool complex found what police believed to be 3.3 grams of cocaine and several capsules of ecstasy in Stolls pocket during a routine search.

AHL player guilty:Nathan Paetsch, who played the last three seasons with the American Hockey Leagues Grand Rapids Griffins, pleaded guilty to being part of an illegal sports betting business that took wagers from other players.

He was involved with a gambling operation that took bets through offshore websites, authorities said, placing wagers himself and receiving credit when he recruited fellow players and others to bet.

Before playing with the Griffins, Paetsch spent part of five seasons with the National Hockey Leagues Buffalo Sabres.

NFL

TerrellePryorbelieves he can be an NFL wide receiver. The Browns are giving him a chance to catch on with them.

Pryor, who has made 10 pro starts at quarterback, was awarded on waivers to Cleveland and the Browns intend to give him a shot at making their roster as a wideout.

The former Ohio State star recently announced his intentions to switch positions to prolong a career that appeared to be headed toward a finish.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Hip-hop music mogul Diddy was arrested on UCLAs campus, where his son is on the football team, police said.

Diddy, 45, whose real name is Sean Combs, was arrested at UCLAs Acosta Athletic Training Complex on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon shortly after 12:30 pm, according to a statement from campus police.

The deadly weapon was a kettlebell, which is used in weight training.

COLLEGE TENNIS

Danny Westerman, 35, was named the head coach of the Wisconsin mens team. Westerman played for the Badgers from 1998-2002 and was a three-time all-Big Ten selection.

CYCLING

Scott Sunderland of Budget Forklifts won the Milwaukee Mile Circuit Race and remained atop the mens pro standings for the Tour of Americas Dairyland.

BASEBALL

Jake Romanodrove in four runs as the Lakeshore Chinooks rolled over the Wisconsin Rapid Rafters, 16-4, at Kapco Park in Mequon.
