Latest On Obama Health Care

Yesterday, the Senate passed a bill by a vote of 87 to 13 that will cut $6 billion from government spending. The House has already passed the bill, and it will now go to Barack Obama to sign into law. This is the 6th time a short term spending bill has been passed, as the government officials debate on a long term budget for this fiscal year. In the long term the bill is funding for cuts to Obama’s health care plan, Planned Parenthood, and controversial plans for the environment. Currently, Obama’s health care plan, the Affordable Care Act, gives millions of Americans access to health care that didn’t have it before. It also helps small businesses be able to offer health care for their employees. The law also cracks down on bad insurance practices and allows people with pre-existing conditions to be eligible for health care. The bill is designed to cut government spending substantially over the next 10 years.
