A loan program to help eligible homeowners with home repairs and improvements is expanding focus from a single Petoskey neighborhood to the entire city.
The program, administered by the Emmet County Housing Council and funded with a grant from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, previously was targeted for home improvements in the Old Town Emmet Neighborhood, which includes the Emmet Street corridor and neighboring areas. Because of the limited number of applications received from that neighborhood, organizers arranged to offer the zero-percent-interest loan opportunity citywide.
