Floridians Opt-Out Of Obama-care

One of Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos’ initial acts during the 2011 legislative session was to sponsor and shepherd a proposed constitutional amendment aimed towards the federal health care law.

Support of the resolution is beneficial for Haridopolos, a Republican from Merritt Island who’s running for the U.S. Senate when the subject turns to what Republicans refer to as, Obama-care.

He plans to support this amendment that will allow Floridians to opt-out of Obama’s government takeover of healthcare!

If the United States Supreme Court inevitably rules in favor of the twenty six states suing to cease implementation of the individual requirement, Florida’s constitutional amendment would be moot as far as federal healthcare reform is concerned.

All the state constitutional amendment helps ensure is standing for a lawsuit resistant to the federal government. Floridians may only opt-out of the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate if the United States Supreme Court rules against the supremacy of the federal law.
