Eco-friendly Renovations

A real estate company called Akridge has recently announced an impending lease with the Office of Personnel Management for roughly 50,000 square feet at 999 North Capital St. This two building campus will soon entice government tenants to swarm in as renovations will be finished soon. More than 600,000 square feet of this area has already been leased out as the IRS, DC Department of Health and OPM have already taken a favor to it.

OPM will soon leave their current federally owned address and this building will soon be refurbished with a more environmentally friendly theme in mind. Both Union Square buildings are certified by LEED Silver and have been rated by Energy Star. OPM Will likely relocate to the north building toward the end of 2011 and take places on the third and fourth floors. Some of the renovations that are closing in on completion include redesigned entryways, elevators, lobbies, a new exercise center and restrooms in addition to modernized security system.
