Batman 3, The Dark Knight Rises, is expected to begin filming this summer for a 2012 release. Director Christopher Nolan has stated this will be his last Batman film.

Christian Bale has confirmed his role in the movie as superhero Bruce Wayne/Batman and will be accompanied by Tom Hardy playing the villain Bane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.

When asked about revisiting his role as CEO of Wayne Enterprises, Rutger Hauer told Entertainment Weekly that he is doubtful since he hasn’t heard from Director Christopher Nolan or the studio.

In an interview with Empire, Oscar nominated Liam Neeson expressed his interest in the upcoming movie, but he has not yet been asked to return to the role of Ra’s Al Ghul as he previously played in Batman Begins. There is speculation that character Talia Al Ghul, Ra’s Al Ghul’s daughter, may make an appearance in the upcoming Dark Knight rises.
