Bulls Clinch Top Seed

For the first time since the Michael Jordan era the Chicago Bulls will have a number one seed in the NBA the playoffs. Chicago clinched the berth and the crucial home-court advantage in Cleveland Friday night, beating the Cavaliers 93-82. The Bulls have put together a six-game win streak and have won 18 of their last 20 games.

Carlos Boozer led a balanced attack that saw six Bulls hit for double figures. Besides Boozer’s 24, Ronnie Brewer added 12. Derrick Rose had 11 as did Joakim Noah. Kyle Korver and Luol Deng both scored 10.

J.J. Hickson had 22 point and 15 rebounds for Cleveland, while Alonzo Gee scored 11 and Baron Davis 10. The Cavaliers are now tied with Minnesota for the worst record in the NBA.

Trailing 54-46 at the half, the Cavs pulled to within three points before the Bulls went on an 18-6 run to end the third quarter, staying in front the rest of the way.
