Sandra Bullock is the latest in a long line of Hollywood stars to join the cause to help the victims devastated by the earthquake in Japan. She cracked open her checkbook earlier Thursday and donated $1 million to the Red Cross. So far, it is the biggest single donation by a Hollywood star.
As previously stated, there are many stars helping out. Katy Perry is donating proceeds on the sales of her glow sticks during her concerts. Hollywood’s newest “slip-up” Charlie Sheen is donating $1 per ticket on his upcoming live shows. All of this after the Walt Disney Company donated a whopping $2.5 million to the Red Cross and said they would match their employee’s donations up to another million. They have also pledged the DVD and Blu-Ray sales of their latest movie “Hereafter” to the efforts in Japan.
All of this happened after the U.S. Red Cross sent $10 million to the Japanese Red Cross.
