Casting: Tom Holland is officially the new Spider-Man. Jason Statham will return for Furious 8. Julia Stiles will return for Bourne 5. And Alicia Vikander is confirmed for Bourne 5. Beyonce is rumored to be joining The Avengers. Chris Pine is rumored to be joining the Justice League. Dwayne Johnson will battle monsters in Rampage. Arnold Schwarzenegger will star in the drama 478. Channing Tatums is no longer doing a Ghostbusters movie.

New Directors/New Gigs: Jon Watts will deliver the next Spider-Man movie. James Mangold will make an Ingrid Bergman biopic. Ava DuVernay is rumored to be directing Black Panther. Ben Affleck is rumored to be directing a Batman movie. William Friedkin will direct the To Live and Die in L.A. TV show. Gavin O’Connor is making a FIFA scandal movie.

Box Office: Inside Out had the best opening of all time for an original, non-sequel movie. Furious 7 is now the third highest-grossing movie of all time.

Franchise Fever: Independence Day 2 got a new title. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension will be the final installment. Peter Docter is not interested in making an Inside Out 2. Star Trek 3 began filming. Arnold Schwarzenegger says Twins 2 is still happening.
