In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Anne Hataway finally spoke about all the negative feedback about her and James Franco hosting the Oscars. Anne was recently in the film Love and Other Drugs which didn’t receive the best reviews either, but she still defended her co-host.
According to OK! magazine the star said that she thought that James Franco did an incredible job, in addition to hosting the Oscars and being nominated himself. Apparently Franco had left straight away from the Oscar’s to get to his class at a University. Although he may have gotten good marks from his teachers, critics everywhere were ashamed at Franco for not attending his own party. Anne still defended the Oscar-nominated star, saying that she told him, “I’m partying and doing Oprah..you can go to class!”
Rumors circled around the US, claiming that the two hosts grew to hate eachother during rehearsals, and also that she provided all the energy while he just phoned in according to US Weekly. But James and Anne’s reps both denied these accusasions. As for hosting the ceremony, Hathaway added, “I had a blast. I kept waiting to become nervous…and the whole thing from beginning to end was just pure joy.”
