Tracy Collins, or Tracy Dot Com to her many fans, spotlights her entertainment picks for the upcoming week and weekend.
48 Hour Film Project Best of Screening Pre-sale, Today-July 9, Florida Theatre. Tickets: $15.
Thirty-four local film teams had just 48 hours to write, film and edit a short movie earlier this month. (On a side note, this included Mentlegen Productions with team member and Times-Union writer Dan Scanlan. Who knew that man could sing and dance?) The following week all of the shorts were screened for family and friends. Tickets are now on sale for next week’s Best of Screening. If you have ever attended one, you know you will want to opt for an advance purchase rather than stand in line the day of the show. Come check out our local talent. Visit 48HourFilm.com for info.
ImpactJAX Young Professionals Expo, 5 pm Tuesday, Aloft Hotel Tapestry Park. Tickets: $10 and a non-perishable food item.

First Wednesday Art Walk, 5-9 pm Wednesday, downtown Jacksonville. Free.
If you haven’t seen the reinvented Hemming Park yet, that is reason enough to attend Art Walk. You won’t even recognize your own downtown. Factor in Grandpa’s Cough Medicine in concert on the main stage and you can color me there. Featured events this month also include welcoming new Mayor Lenny Curry and Sheriff Mike Williams. And I highly recommend checking out new restaurant Super Food and Brew. Info on all the artists, musicians, venues and more at JacksonvilleArtWalk.com.
Fourth of July Celebration, 3-10 pm Saturday, Northbank, Southbank and Jacksonville Beach. Free.
Downtown is coming alive more than ever for Independence Day. The Jacksonville Landing starts live music at 3 pm with IveyWest Band and X Hale in the courtyard, Austin Park at Fionn MacCool’s and a DJ at Mavericks. The Shipyards is hosting its own food and drink vendors with music by ’70s pop/rock band Orleans and The Band Be Easy. And Friendship Fountain and MOSH are open for more family friendly fun. Fireworks kick off at 9:45 pm Visit JaxHappenings.com for info on the Skyway, street closures, parking options and more. Not planning on crossing the ditch for the Fourth? Fireworks start at 9 pm in Jacksonville Beach.
Jacksonville Suns, 7:05 pm Saturday, Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Tickets start at $11.
The home team is kicking off a 10-game homestand with a bang Saturday night. The Suns take on the Chattanooga Lookouts followed by the Mobile BayBears for five games each. And although the city of Jacksonville will be lighting up the night down the street, Suns pyro guru Dave “Pyrobatman” Batten will be creating “oohs” and “aahs” for baseball fans at Bragan Field on the Fourth. Also coming up … Sunday at the Suns game is Bark in the Park at 6:05 pm Bring your furry friend for only $2.50.
