BALTIMORE (WJZ) If you are planning a Fourth of July trip, youre not alone. A record number of Marylanders will be traveling over the holiday weekend.

With a combination of steady job growth and lower gas prices, Marylanders are ready to splurge on their weekend getaway.
Across the country, 42 million people are expected to travel for the Fourth of July weekend.
Americans as well as Marylanders are feeling very optimistic with the economy, said Ragina Cooper-Averella, AAA Mid-Atlantic.
Its projected that 754,000 will be going by car, 65,000 by air and 52,000 by bus or train.
Prices dropping at the pump also an encouraging reason to get out of town.
We are seeing the lowest gas prices for the Fourth of July holiday weekend than we have seen in the last five years, said Averella.
Everybody loves lower gas prices, said Karen Smith.
