The Umbrellas of Harbert Expands:
A joint effort for charity, Harbert Business Association, Chikaming Parks Board and Chikaming Open Lands will host a dedication and naming ceremony for the new nature preserve in Sawyer on Saturday. At this event there will be an opportunity for the public to join in the collaborative painting of a 9 market umbrella entitled, Favorite Things of Harbor Country.”
This umbrella will be sold at the auction in August in Harbert along with the other art umbrellas on display this summer. When the community umbrella proceeds will go for signs, parking, and to mark trails in the new preserve. Party on the Preserve begins at 4 pm (ET), trail-head near 6729-6809 Parkway, in Sawyer, Michigan.
4th Annual ARTIgras: The 4th annual Art and Crafts Festival is Saturday and Sunday. The fest featuresoriginal works of art from over 70 artists from around Harbor Country and the Midwest. Art of all mediums, including paintings, sculpture, glass, photography, drawings, jewelry, fiber, wood, ceramics, mixed media, and furniture, along with artist demonstrations and a kid’s art area.The NBBA and The Pokagon Fund will be hosting a “Chalk the Walk” in downtown New Buffalo from 9-11am, prior the start of ARTigras, June 27th – ages 6-12 are welcome to participate. Prizes will be given out for the art creations to help brighten up our downtown. Outdoor Music in the Southwest Michigan: The Community Riverfront Concert Series in South Haven hosts live music under the stars each Thursday evening at 7 pm (ET), at South Haven’s Riverfront Park. Performances feature a variety of types of music including jazz, classical, folk and contemporary. Concerts are free to the public.
In St. Joe. St. Joe Today is sponsoring a Friday Night Concert Series with another complete sound menu for the summer, including blues and jazz on the banks of the river and lakefront. Concerts start at 7:30 pm (ET) at the John EN Howard Bandshell. Round Barn Winery in Baroda features live entertainment every Saturday and Sunday afternoon through October 31. Bands perform at an open-air, live music stage adjacent to the Beer Garden.
