Part of watching films does involve the business side of show business. We attempt to have a bit of fun with it, as each week Tim makes his predictions as to how films will perform in the Box Offices. Then, every Sunday, we look at how Tim’s predictions fared.

So how did this weekend go?

Ladies and gentlemen, here is exactly where this year’s Oscars presentation gets strange. You see, this year’s Oscars ceremony is being produced by Brett Ratner, the guy behind Tower Heist. As his master of ceremonies, Ratner has chosen Eddie Murphy, one of the celebrities of Tower Heist as well as a man that lots of people feel hasn’t had a success within the previous 10 years (Dream Girls doesn’t count, Murphy was obviously a supporting player).

And the weekend that their new movie comes out, they are beaten by a week-old animated feline in footwear? Not exactly a raging success.

You do have to commend Puss in Boots for his impressive lasting power.
