This week we lurched back and forth between the prurient and philosophical, among private egos and our national values, between Schwarzenegger and Strauss, Kahn and President Barack Obama and his visualization of a brand new Middle East.
But, strangely enough, this week’s big news flash, both high and low, has no more legs than last week’s fake furor over rap artist, Common, reciting poetry in the White House or the week Osama bin Laden was slain in a Pakistani safe house.
The one true thing in this country for the foreseeable future, and the concern that’ll most likely consume us this summer, is the overall economy. As a Gallup poll reported earlier this week, 3 in 4 Americans name some sort of financial concern as the most significant dilemma facing America currently.
This will be one more summer to see just how little regard the job creators have for the American people who built this country.
