The latest news on identity theft is coming as a warning from manufacturer’s of virus spyware software. The news is that targeted CEOs will be sent emails that appear to be coming from employees that can be trusted. The emails have been given an attachment that is actually a spyware software program. Once the attachment is opened, the computer is infected with the spyware and information about the user can be obtained without any problem. The latest threat is called phishing. Sounds much like fishing which is what the malevolent email software is designed to do, fish for information about the person who opens the email and attachment that is located on his computer. The only protection from phishing emails is to never open an attachment connected to an email unless you really have to or know the person who sent it and can fire him immediately or as soon as possible.
