Unveiling of the VW Microbus

Volkswagen recently introduced the new eco-friendly Microbus. The new vehicle is a modern take on the old Microbus. Its appearance is very similar to the original design that stood out so much on roadways. The completely redone Microbus has an electric engine that can travel up to 185 miles on one battery charge and can go an impressive 87 miles per hour. These are some of the best specs seen so far in an all electric vehicle.

The interior of the Microbus features the three person bench seat of the original. Its controls and systems will run off an iPad interface that can be detached.

The original Microbus came into being in 1950. It was a widely used in Europe for a couple of decades and then came to America where it became a symbol of the 1960’s counter-culture movement. It was the preferred vehicle of many of the so called Hippies of the era.
