Imagine his surprise when 13 year old Daniil Korotkikh from Russia digging on the beach finds a bottle with a message in it!
It’s not only the point that there was a message in it, the message in this bottle is 24 years old!
The message was written by 5 year old Frank Uesbeck from Coesfeld, Germany. Uesbeck who is now 29 wrote the note and threw it overboard from a ferry he and his family were on during a vacation in the Baltic Sea 24 years ago.
The letter said “My name is Frank and I’m five years old. My dad and I are traveling on a ship to Denmark. If you find this letter, please write back to me, and I will write back to you.”
Uesbeck said he barely remembered the vacation and said “he’ll definitely get another letter from me”.
Reporters tracked down Uesbeck from the address he had wrote on the letter back then, his parents still lives in the Coesfeld, Germany area.
Uesbeck was surprised that the bottle had survived the sand this whole time and had said he didn’t think the bottle would have survived the water this long.
The two (Frank and Daniil) met online earlier this month, Frank gave his new address to Daniil and said he would write back when he receives a letter from the young boy.
