Elizabeth Taylor: Beloved American Icon Dies

Elizabeth Taylor, one of the most beloved movie stars in American history, died on Wednesday at the age of 79. Renowned for her violet eyes and enduring glamor and beauty, she will be remembered for a long time to come.

She had been in the hospital at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for the last six weeks for congestive heart failure, and finally passed away surrounded by her four children. Her son said, “My Mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love…Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts.”

One of the most graceful and beautiful actresses ever, Taylor won three Academy Awards in her lifetime, one for the extensive humanitarian works she performed. She was also cursed with bad relationship luck, having been married eight times. Most of all though, she will be remembered for her work in more than fifty movies.
