Once again, the Broadway musical “Spiderman: Turn off the Dark” has experienced major technical glitches, causing it to shut down for another three weeks. This most recent mishap occurred Friday when the flight system for the Green Goblin malfunctioned, leaving the actor dangling for three minutes before stagehands could help him.

In a string of misfortune, the opening of the show has now been delayed six times, previews have been cancelled until May 12, and the show has lost its director, Tony-award winning Julie Taymor, famous for “The Lion King.” Philip William McKinley, known for “The Boy From Oz” will be replacing Taymor.

Despite an overall panning from critics, the show, which features music by U2’s Bono and The Edge, has been popular with audiences and is the second-highest grossing Broadway show this week, just behind “Wicked.” Ticketholders can refund or exchange their tickets for later dates, according to producers.
