The LA court system has given Lindsay Lohan the choice of either settling out of court or going to a preliminary hearing on grand theft felony charges. Lohan’s lawyer has confirmed that propositions for a plea bargain are up in the air. It is uncertain whether they will be accepted or not.
Although her lawyer would rather her client avoid jail time by pleading no contest, LA Judge Keith Schwartz has been adamant that she does not have such a choice. He is also quite surprised that news that he felt was confidential has leaked rather quickly to the media.
Schwartz has also claimed that the defense has additional evidence that it could potentially give in court. The judge said that if Lohan decides to show up to her March 25th court date, he would like to hear it a few days before in private.
News reports have said that a video taken of the actress allegedly stealing a $2500 necklace could determine whether or not she will be eligible for a renewed defense.
