Delta Named FORTUNE Magazine’s Most Admired Airline Worldwide

FORTUNE magazine has named Delta as the most admired airline worldwide in its 2011 World’s Most Admired Companies airline industry list. In the last four years, Delta has moved up the ranks from 10th, to 6th, to 3rd and now finally to the top of the list. This list is based on a global survey of airline executives, directors and analysts who rate the companies based on nine criteria. Along with finishing 1st overall, Delta ranked 1st in long-term investment, quality of management, global competitiveness and social responsibility.
Delta has completed virtually all of their merger integration, has launched significant investments in customer experience, strengthened joint venture and alliance relationships and expanded international reach. Delta has added jobs, increased pay, and invested more than $2.5 billion in Delta people in the form of company equity, profit sharing, and operational performance bonuses, all while maintaining low unit costs and reducing debt.
