Something new from Apple?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re well aware that Apple sells something called Apple TV. Although, the computer juggernaut might be designing a new kind of Apple TV and it’s not just a box that connects to your TV. The clever bloggers at 9to5 Mac noticed a job listing today that Apple posted that leaves little doubt it’s something the company is at least exploring. The classified describes that Apple needs someone who can work on “New power management designs and technologies”. One can safely assume that if Apple were promoting a job offer to work on a generic new venture, it would use the term set top box or something of the sort to describe Apple TV in it’s current set up.

Producing and selling a TV wouldn’t be that much of a long shot for Steve Jobs and the boys. Most everyone has a TV, so there is already a built in customer base. You could be thinking, why would a company get involved in the television business in this day and age? The same could be said of personal computers and mobiles phones. But Apple definitely has shown it could handle those markets.
