Russian model Irina Shayk is featured on the cover of the highly anticapated Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Edition. The publication that has brought fame to super models ranging from Brooklyn Decker to Christie Brinkley, will be on newsstands across the land Tuesday.
The cover has Irina Shayk on location in beautiful Hawaii, yet the annual swimsuit issue also displays her and other SI models in Boracay’s beautiful sandy playgrounds.
Some of the other models Borclay hosted were Shayk, Esti Ginzburg, Chrissy Teigen, Kate Upton, and Jessica White. SI’s website also had videos of the models. A few of Upton’s photographs were taken with a bahay kubo backdrop, while others were taken of her on a fishing boat. Kate Upton said of Boracay: “It’s beautiful! I grew up in Florida so I know what beaches are like but this beach is not like anything I’ve ever seen.”
None of the women knew which of them would take the honor of being the Sports Illustrated cover model. It’s an SI tradition to release this information only when the magazine is on sale. Super Model, Shayk, only found about her selection as the cover girl at a taping of the David Letterman show. Her first time being on the cover out of her five appearances. This year will be the first Sports Illustarted Swimsuit Edition available on iPads and mobile phones.
